New in Q1 for Plaky: Custom Color Picker, Dynamic Date Options & More

Updates Featured Image

The first quarter of 2026 was highly productive for our Plaky team, as we came out with a few notable new features and updates.

Let us introduce you to personalized view ordering, our brand new custom color picker, and the dynamic date option in Board Automations.

Personalized view ordering

The View section has been updated, so it can reflect the personal style of Plaky users. Now, users can create and reorder Views without this affecting other Board users at all.

Let’s go through all the changes.

Create a View

Plaky users can create and personalize their Views.

To create a new View:

  • Click on the “+” icon at the end of the current View list.
  • Select the View type from the dropdown menu.

Once you change the order of the Views, the changes will be visible only to you, and not to the other Plaky users within the same Board.

Drag & drop your views

And how do you change the Views order? Just drag and drop them!

To move the Views around, Plaky users can now simply use an intuitive drag and drop functionality:

  • Click on the specific View you want to move.
  • Hold the cursor and drag the View to a new position.

Note: Private views can be reordered within all View types and remain visible only to the creator.

Default View

Every view section has its Default view, which used to occupy the first position only. Now, you can move the Default view and place it elsewhere in the View section, and even mark it as a Favorite view.

Favorite view

The View that you add to Favorites will now automatically be moved to the top of the list. And if you decide to remove it from your favorites, the View will be slotted back with all other views, sorted by creation date.

View visibility

Plaky users can now hide Views they don’t need and minimize board clutter. Removing the Views doesn’t affect other users’ overview, making it a perfect tool for personalizing the board.

How to remove Views from your board

  1. Go to the eye icon at the end of the View section.
  2. Mark the Show/hide multiple views to hide all the views except for the Default one, or
  3. Tick off each view you don’t want to appear in your board anymore.

Finally, you can open a certain view from the eye icon by simply clicking on it.

Improves organization

When you eliminate the Views you don’t need and place the most important View at the front, you create space for what really matters to you. Choosing which views get to stay on your board eliminates clutter and aids the much-needed workspace visual clarity.

Boosts productivity

When you don’t waste time searching for what you need on the Board, you can focus more on the task at hand. With a decluttered, personalized workspace, working on tasks becomes much more appealing.

Encourages board personalization

The ease of dragging, dropping, eliminating, and adding Views encourages you to arrange them just the way you want them. More personalization, in turn, leads to less potential frustration when looking for what you need on the board.

Custom color picker tool

In addition to the existing 18 different colors available for task statuses, Plaky users can now access a full color spectrum interface — the color picker tool.

How to use the custom color picker

  1. Choose a task, and click on the Status field for that task.
  2. Scroll down and click on Add/Edit Labels.
  3. Select the + Add new label.
  4. Select the square on the left side of New Label.
  5. Choose the main color by clicking on the square with that color.
  6. Click on the + Add custom color.
  7. Choose the color spectrum that you want. Alternatively, type in the specific color code.

Boosts visual organization

With the introduction of the color picker tool, the entire visual organization of the board is improved. At a glance, users can see whether a task is urgent or not, depending on their choice of colors.

Additionally, you can make a distinction between certain tasks, e.g., urgent ones, simply by using different shades of red. That way, your team will instantly know what to focus on first.

Automations: Dynamic date option

The Automations feature has also been updated to allow you to automatically update a certain field value.

This update is available to all Board Owners. Forget about entering the date manually — choose from different options to update your dates and timelines.

How to automate your date and timeline tracking

  1. Create a trigger for the automation.
  2. Click on Thendo this.
  3. Choose Change item field from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select the Date or timeline field type.
  5. Choose from: Current date/Days after current date/Custom date.
  6. Click on Create automation.

Monitor team progress more efficiently

With the date automation, managers can keep track of the exact moment when tasks begin and end. This makes both reporting and tracking progress easier, as you are aware of how many tasks were accomplished on a certain date.

Save time

Setting up automations frees up time for you to focus on what’s important. You don’t have to search or, even worse, guess which tasks were done during the day — now you can find them within seconds, and make further plans accordingly.

Reduce the possibility of error

When you need to enter the date manually, you increase the risk of errors. Typos, formatting mistakes, or just writing down the wrong month can seriously affect the accuracy of your reports. Automations are here to help you with the most tiresome parts of work, so you can direct your full attention where needed.
