Invite new members to your organization

Organization owners and admins can log in to their CAKE.com account and invite users to any of the CAKE.com Suite apps (Clockify, Plaky, Pumble) from the Members page by adding their email address. If you purchased bundle seats, you can onboard members to all apps in a single workflow. This saves you time in adding members to your organization from one location instead of opening each app to complete the process.

Invite new members #

To invite new members to your organization:

  1. On the CAKE.com homepage, click Members
  2. Click Invite new members
  3. Select the product workspace from the dropdown list (multiple workspaces can be selected if available)
  4. Enter the email address in the field
  5. Optional: Toggle the Add user names switch to enter a suggested user name for each invited member
  6. Click Invite

You can only invite up to 5 new members into your workspace. If you reach this limit, you need to wait for the pending invites to be accepted before you can send additional invites.

Note

Suggested user names are only visible after the invite and can be viewed on the Members page of the organization. If you choose to add the name of the invited member, the suggested name will not be allowed if the user already has a CAKE.com account.

Free vs. paid plans #

The outcome of the invitation depends on your current subscription plan.

If you are on a free plan:

  • Invitations are sent immediately.
  • For Clockify, you can only have up to 5 members in your workspace.
  • For Plaky and Pumble, you can send invites to as many users you need in your workspace.

If you are on a paid plan:

The system checks your seat inventory per selected product workspace before sending the invites.

  • If your subscription has unoccupied seats, the system sends the invites immediately. The new members will fill the available seats.
  • If all purchased seats are occupied, the system displays the additional seats you need to purchase for each selected workspace, which you need to complete before the system sends the invites.

    Upon successful purchase of additional seats for all selected workspaces, you will return to the Invite new members dialog box and the message “Successfully added seats.” displays. At this point, you need to click Invite to complete the process and the message “Invites sent” will be displayed.

Why is the email address I entered not valid?

You will get an error message if the email domain is suspended or if the email is already registered as a member. 

I already sent out 5 invites but still have remaining members to invite to my organization. How soon can I send another batch?

The initial batch of invites must be accepted first before you can send another batch of invites. If you are on a paid plan, make sure you have enough seats to accommodate the new members.
