Clockify Updates for Q4: Integrations, enhanced login options, improved Time off feature, and more

We’re proud to announce that the 4th and final quarter of 2025 was highly successful for Clockify.

Now, you can log into your Kiosk with a QR code and the 6-digit PIN code. Additionally, users can track the time they spend on Plaky tasks without logging into Clockify, and we’ve even introduced the negative balance update in the Time off feature.

Kiosk: Unique 6-digit PIN & QR code login

In the last quarter of the year, we successfully implemented the QR code login for the Kiosk, as well as the unique 6-digit PIN login option. Our goal was to make logging into the Kiosk and tracking time as easy as possible — and we’ve accomplished this.

Benefits of logging in with a QR code & PIN

Saving time

Users will be able to log into Clockify Kiosk much faster by simply scanning the QR code or entering the 6-digit PIN.

Reducing errors

While the login itself is faster, QR and PIN codes also reduce the chance of errors when logging in. Simply scan the QR code/copy the PIN, and you’ll be logged in immediately.

Improving safety

Logging in with a PIN or QR code is a proven method that guarantees that your work time is securely tracked and stored. Plus, if the QR code login fails, you can always use the PIN login as a backup.

Setting up the QR and 6-digit PIN code login

To set up this login method, you first need to enable this type of authentication in the Workspace settings.

To log in via a QR code, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Kiosk app.
  2. Open the QR code (you’ll get it via email).
  3. Scan the code.

You will then be automatically logged in.

To log in with a 6-digit PIN code, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Kiosk app.
  2. Enter your 6-digit PIN, which will be provided to you by the admin.
  3. Clock in.

Plaky integration

Tracking time on your tasks has never been easier. We’ve connected Clockify’s tasks and projects with Plaky’s items/subitems so that you can seamlessly track your time directly from Plaky.

This integration is available to all users and on all devices. All you need to do is set up the integration, start tracking time within a Plaky task card, and focus on the work ahead of you.

Benefits of the Plaky + Clockify Integration

Simplicity

Instead of using 2 tools separately, you can now track the time you spend on specific tasks through the Time tracker tab in Plaky.

Time saving

You don’t have to spend time choosing projects or defining tasks in Clockify and starting the timer there anymore. All the time-tracking information you enter in Plaky will be reflected automatically in Clockify.

Fewer errors

Working on one task in Plaky, only to enter another one in Clockify by mistake, can lead to confusion and billing errors.

With this integration, errors are reduced to a minimum, as you can seamlessly track time on the very task you’re working on across both apps.

Setting up the Plaky + Clockify Integration

To connect Clockify and Plaky, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Plaky board, and click on the three dots icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Time Tracker from the drop-down menu.
  3. Choose the desired Clockify workspace.
  4. Create or choose a Clockify project from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click Save.

Time off negative balance

Finally, Clockify users can now request time off even when there is a negative balance. This means they can still request sick days, for example, even if they have no more hours or days available.

How to enable a negative time off balance

  1. Go to the Time off page.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Choose the Manage policies option.
  4. Click on Edit next to the time off policy you wish to change.
  5. Check the Allow negative balance option.

You have the option to limit the negative balance to 7 days per year.

Additionally, you can reset the negative balance at the end of the year. This automatically clears the negative balance and resets it to 0.

Of course, this doesn’t affect the number of time off days employees have already earned.

Having the option to request a day off, even if it hasn't been earned yet, reduces stress for employees and leads to a greater work-life balance.

Enhances consistency

When every employee has the same right to request time off, even if there is no available time left, the company’s time off policy remains consistent.

Enables transparency

When both employees and employers know how much time they’ve borrowed, it leaves no room for guesswork. In case an employee leaves the company before they earn the days they’ve already spent, that amount can be deducted from the final paycheck.
