{"id":5014,"date":"2026-04-21T15:21:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T15:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cake.com\/blog\/?post_type=news&#038;p=5014"},"modified":"2026-04-21T15:21:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T15:21:09","slug":"clockify-announces-free-plan-changes","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/cake.com\/blog\/news\/clockify-announces-free-plan-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Clockify Announces Free Plan Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>WORLDWIDE (April 21, 2026)<\/strong> \u2014 Clockify, the most popular time tracking tool in the world, is introducing updates to its Free plan in April, changing the number of seats and available features for its current and future customers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why are we changing Clockify\u2019s Free plan?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As costs of maintaining a global infrastructure for an unlimited number of free users grow, CAKE.com, which is a 100% bootstrapped company, is focusing on remaining innovative and delivering quality service to our main investors \u2014 our paid plan customers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In turn, this enables us to maintain a great Free plan for smaller teams who aren\u2019t yet in need of more powerful features our generous <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/pricing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">paid plans<\/a> unlock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staying bootstrapped means that we at CAKE.com will be able to maximize Clockify\u2019s further development to build new and innovative features customers have asked for, while ensuring the highest level of quality and security CAKE.com products are known for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this mean for Clockify\u2019s customers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once part of the Free plan, the following features will now be moved to Clockify\u2019s paid plans:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kiosk,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Billable hours,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Limited users,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shared reports,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project time estimates, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CSV\/Excel report export.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the following features will be limited:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Number of users<\/strong> \u2014 The Free plan will support up to 5 users.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Webhooks<\/strong> \u2014 The Free plan will support 3 webhooks per workspace.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>API rate limit<\/strong> \u2014 30 requests will be accepted per hour per workspace.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Creation permissions<\/strong> \u2014 The option to create permissions will be set to <em>Everyone<\/em> by default.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Report date range filter<\/strong> \u2014 Users will be able to filter the date range for up to a month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Project access<\/strong> \u2014 Project access will be Public by default, as the option to make projects private has now been moved to paid plans.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>existing paid plan users will not be affected<\/strong> by this change.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About CAKE.com<\/strong>: Founded in 2009 by Nenad Milanovi\u0107, with its headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, CAKE.com is the software development company behind Clockify, the most popular team time tracker.
